Speech Evaluations

Evaluations help us to diagnose the need for therapy and determine treatment goals. While one evaluation session may often provide all the information that is needed, at times, we may need to request additional sessions to establish rapport with your child. After the evaluation you will be provided with a written report for your records. Both in person and teletherapy sessions can be completed; however, in person assessments are preferred.

Speech Therapy

Individual Therapy sessions are conducted in 30, 45, and 60 minute increments. Therapy sessions target goals established through collaboration with the SLP and parent. They are individualized and geared around the interests of the client. Both teletherapy and in person sessions are available.

Consultations

Consultations are available for families who are seeking a second opinion or a new direction in therapy. They are beneficial for clients that are not located in the DC, Maryland, or Virginia region. Consults are a review of your current treatment plan and recommendations for potential therapy methods that may work for you or your child. This is not a full evaluation or therapy session and it is not a reimbursable insurance expense. Jodi will meet with families to review recommendations in person or via teleconsult.

Intensives

Intensives are 2-3 days of consecutive therapy 2x/day. They are recommended for clients with motor speech disorders who require more intensive services, for individuals seeking a boost in or a new direction in therapy, or for individuals with persistent speech sound disorders (i.e., lisps or individual sound distortions). For more information on whether your child or you would qualify for intensive experience please contact Sound Speech.
